侯仁之——中国著名历史地理学家,北京大学地理学系教授,中国科学院地学学部委员。祖籍山东恩县(今属武城县)1911年12月6日出生于河北省枣强县萧张镇。1940年毕业于北京燕京大学研究院。1949年夏荣获英国利物浦大学哲学博士学位,回国任教。曾任北京大学副教务长,地质地理学系和地理学系主任,北京都市计划委员会委
Hou Renzhi, a well-known Chinese historical geologist, professor of Geography at Peking University and a member of the Institute of Earth Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The ancestral home of Shandong En County (now Wucheng County) was born on December 6, 1911 in Xiaozhang Town, Zaoqiang County, Hebei Province. In 1940, he graduated from Beijing Yanjing University. In the summer of 1949, he received a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Liverpool and returned to China to teach. He used to be deputy dean of Peking University, director of Department of Geology and Geography, and director of the Department of Geography, Beijing Municipal Planning Commission
