Anopheles subpic-tus is the most dominant mosquito in Sri Lanka. As deforestation and irrigated areas expand, the density of such mosquitoes has also increased. The purpose of this study is to better understand the role of Anopheles pandemic in the spread of malaria in Sri Lanka. The experimental site was located in a new rice paddy area in the northeastern province of Sri Lanka. Three sampling surveys were carried out between April and June 1989 (late monsoon period to early dry season) and from November to December 1989 (northeast monsoon period) in 1989 and 1990. 6: 30 ~ 9: 00am, two groups of mosquitoes per house 15min, each transfer
