对于传统的期刊来说,近些年所要面临的全新压力就是来自新媒体的竞争,传统的单纯编辑工作也慢慢地进行了服务转变,成为综合性的多样化服务。与此同时,对新媒体环境下的编辑工作也提出了很多的重要要求,例如:编辑的高效性、融合性,以及安全性等等。另外,整个新媒体环境下的编辑工作改进方向也发生了本质性的变化,重点就是要对专业的高度和普及度进行提高,借助新技术和新媒体的作用,对市场的整体运作效果进行加强。
