本文论述了搜索引擎与联机情报检索的发展现状,并从出现背景、检索性能、数据库、查询方式和检索费用等几个方面对二者作了一番比较,从而得出搜索引擎的发展在联机情报检索的基础上发扬优点、克服缺点,联机情报检索的新发展中也借鉴了搜索引擎的优势。二者有各自的用户市场,走着共同发展的道路。
