The main research CeO2 on the primary silicon in hypereutectic Al Si alloy refinement mechanism. The results show that since CeO2 and Si have the same face-centered cubic structure, and the lattice constant is very close, CeO2 has a higher melting temperature, which easily becomes the nucleus of primary Si.
