鞍钢冷轧厂四机架冷连轧机是由德国引进的二手设备，助卷器是连轧机不可缺少的设备。由于助卷器是６０年代设备，引进后安装时没有经过改造，设备水平较落后，存在许多问题，严重影响连轧机生产。针对助卷器存在的问题，对七个部位进行了技术改造。实践证明改造是成功的，既安全又拆装方便，提高了皮带使用寿命，每月减少更换皮带一次，深受检修工人的欢迎。
