文学评论家关海山在《山西日报》撰文:书的分类很多,但是在人们的内心里,总是直截了当地把书分为有用之书和无用之书。什么是有用之书呢?比如,各类学生教材、教辅,考职称、考公务员的参考书等,可以让读者从思维意识到行为准则立竿见影地发生变化,这些书对人们的现实生活有着直接的影响。反之,像历史类的、哲学类的、文学类的书,既不能让人在工作和社会交往中如鱼得水,又不能让人们以此来挣钱得利,就属于“无用”
