今年1月5日,在北京科学会堂举行了第二届陈嘉庚奖颁奖大会,诺贝尔奖获得者、著名物理学家杨振宁专程从美国赶来向获奖者颁发证书和奖金。我国著名生物化学家、中国科学院学部委员邹承鲁是这届陈嘉庚奖荣获者之一。邹承鲁1923年5月17日出生于山东青岛市,1945年毕业于昆明西南联大化学系,1951年获英国剑桥大学生物化学博士学位,现为中国科学院生物物理所研究员。他在蛋白质分子结构与功能关系的研究中独树一帜,他提出的蛋白质功能集团的修饰与其生物活性之间的定量关系式和确定必须集团数目的方法,已在国际上广泛应用,被称为“邹氏公式”、“邹氏方法”写入美、英、日等国酶学教科书和专著中。我们特约请邹承鲁先生的女儿邹宗平同志写了该文,对他的生平、贡献、治学方法和治学精神等作了较深入地介绍。文章写得生动、活泼、幽默、感人,不同层次的读者均会从中受到启迪,我们特向读者推荐。
On January 5 this year, the 2nd Tan Kah Kee Award Presentation Ceremony was held in the Beijing Science Hall. Nobel laureate and renowned physicist Yang Zhenning made a special trip to the United States to issue certificates and bonuses to the winners. Zou Chenglu, a famous biochemist and member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is one of the winners of this Tan Kah Kee Award. Zou Chenglu was born on May 17, 1923 in Qingdao, Shandong Province. He graduated from the Department of Chemistry of Kunming Southwest United University in 1945 and received a PhD degree in biochemistry from Cambridge University in the United Kingdom in 1951. Now he is a researcher at the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is unique in the study of the relationship between molecular structure and function of protein. The quantitative relationship between modification of protein functional group and biological activity and the method of determining the number of necessary groups have been widely applied in the world. He is called Zou ’S formula “,” Zou’ s method "written in the United States, Britain, Japan and other Enzymes textbooks and monographs. We specially invited Mr. Zou Zongping, daughter of Mr. Zou Chenglu, to write the article and give a more in-depth introduction to his life, contribution, methods of study and spirit of scholarship.
