杉地·薩拉浦·布哈特納加爾先生是今日印度最著名科學家之一,生於1895年,曾在拉合爾、倫敦及柏林受過教育。他一生的業績由1921年開始,在巴拿拉斯大學庄化學教授,現為印度工業科學研究部部長。1928及1938年曾任印度科學會議的化學部主席,1945年又任會議的總主席。1923年以印度代表資格出席在利物浦舉行的英國科學促進會,1931年以同一资格赴倫敦參加慶祝該會的百年紀念,及法拉第的百年紀念。1931年他會出席在愛丁堡舉行的大學會議,
One of India’s most prominent scientists today, Mr. Seraph Bhaktur Nagar, born in 1895, was educated in Lahore, London and Berlin. His life’s performance began in 1921, Professor of Chemistry at the University of Baños, and is currently Minister of Industrial Science Research at India. In 1928 and 1938, he was the chairman of the chemistry department of the Indian Science Conference.
