The characteristics of the double-layer structure of the lower gravel beds in the Dingjiazhai Formation of Baoshan Jinzijie Section are related to different geological features: the lower conglomerate layer is marina-related conglomerate; the upper brecciated limestone is produced by debris flow. The produced fossils indicate the coastal environment. Based on the grain composition, cementation and geochemical characteristics of Dingjiazhai Formation in Baoshan area, the paper put forward the opinion on the formation of cold and warm water in Dingjiazhai Formation
