广灵县位于山西省东北部,与河北省蔚县接壤。战国为平舒邑,西汉为平舒县。唐开元时置安边县,后改为兴唐县,为蔚州管辖。辽设置为广陵县,金又改作广灵。元代再次改为广陵县,不久再改为广灵县。明代为山西布政使司大同府蔚州管辖。清“顺治六年,改阳和为府,未几复大同府,县仍属蔚州。雍正七年,以蔚州改隶宣化府,县始属大同府”~①。今归大同市管辖。一、庙貌及沿革
