芜菁甘蓝又名灰萝卜、凤尾萝卜、大头菜等。原产于欧洲及亚洲西部,我国云南、贵州、河北、山东等省栽培较多,现已推广扩大到湖南、江西、江苏、广西等省区种植,深受群众欢迎,被誉为一种具有广泛推广发展前途的优质高产块根饲料作物。我站于1974年开始引进栽培,通过10多年来的实践证明,这种块根饲料有以下突出优点:(1)产量高:块根肥大,一般一个重1.5～2.5kg,较大的3.5～4.5kg,最大的可达5kg以上。亩产块根一般有6000～7500kg,高产的可达10000kg以上。还有地上茎叶,亩产约1500～2500kg。(2)营养好:块根青绿多汁,味鲜可口,喂猪、喂牛适口性佳,还可作蔬菜。其营养成分据湖南农学院化验分析,全干样内
