黑鲈Micropterus salmoides(Lacepede),英文名为Largemouth Bass或LargemouthBlack Bass等,是一种纯淡水的温水肉食性鱼类,原产美国密西西比河水系。由于受世界各地广大游钓者的喜爱,通过引种,现已广泛分布于美国,加拿大等水城,尤其在五大湖,其资源量十分丰富。目前,黑鲈已被引到英国、德国,法国,南非,香港、菲律宾、巴西等世界各地,几乎遍布全球。黑鲈有两个亚种,即北方黑鲈M.S.salmoides和佛罗里达黑鲈M.S.floridanus。我所则于1984年从广东省引进。国内称黑鲈为加州鲈,其肉味鲜美,在香港的售价比鳜鱼还高,属鱼中珍品。养殖黑鲈,可供国内外游客垂钓,既增加经营 Micropterus salmoides (Lacepede), English name Largemouth Bass or LargemouthBlack Bass, is a pure fresh water carnivorous fish, the origin of the Mississippi River water system.
