《红楼梦》是中国文学大花园的一朵奇葩,它魅力无穷,不仅吸引众了多读者、学者来研究它,更是吸引了许多译者来将它翻译成不同的文字,译出众多版本的译本,让不懂中文的海外读者也能一饱眼福。然而,进入二十一世纪后,世界日新月异、飞速发展。新的时代似乎也呼唤着《红楼梦》新的译本的出现。本文通过对霍克斯,乔利,杨完益三种翻译版本的对比研究,一方面,希望为相关教学、研究提供一定参考,另一方面,希望站在三位巨人的肩膀上吸取经验,取长补短,为中国典籍翻译事业添砖加瓦,期待将来能出现更加符合时代趋势、时代审美的新的优秀译本。
