湘薯15号是湖南省作物所于1986年用九洲五号作母本,湘薯6号作父本杂文选育而成的食用、食品加工的红薯新品种。1996年2月经湖南省农作物品种审定委员会审定合格。1992～1994年参加省区试,三年平均为2121公斤,比对照增产31.2％,均达极显著水平,居食用组第一位;薯干平均每667平方米产561公斤,比对照增产11.2％,居第二位。抗薯瘟又抗黑斑病,较耐旱、耐贮藏。株型半直立,叶片心齿形,叶脉绿
