1958年Bouroncle等报告本病26例,当时称之为“白血性网状内皮增生症”。嗣后陆续有不少报导,但命名不一。由于在此病中所见的细胞鉴别较难,各学者所用的研究方法各不相同,名称又不统一,因此在过去的15年中,对这种白血病是否存在,曾引起许多争论。美国学者曾用“白血性网状内皮增生症”、“肿瘤性淋巴样网状细胞病”、“毛细胞性白血病”、“淋巴网状细胞性肿瘤病”、“网状细胞性白血病”、“慢性网状淋巴细胞性白血病”、“慢性单核细胞性白血病”等名称,而法国学者则称之为“组织淋巴细胞增生症”、
Bouroncle 1958 reported 26 cases of the disease, was called “white blood reticuloendothelial disease.” Subsequent succession of many reports, but different names. Since the identification of cells in this disease is more difficult and the methods used by scholars vary and the names are not uniform, there has been much debate over the existence of this leukemia in the past 15 years. American scholars have used “white reticuloendothelial disease”, “neoplastic lymphatic reticulocytosis”, “hairy cell leukemia”, “lymphatic neoplastic cell disease”, “reticulocytic leukemia”, “ ”Chronic reticular lymphocytic leukemia“, ”chronic monocytic leukemia“ and other names, while French scholars call it ”T Lymphocytosis"
