1990年8月,洛阳市钱币学会收集了一枚西汉金五铢,为罕见的珍品,此钱为研究我国金银货币提供了可靠的实物资料。金五铢的形制及金属成份。这枚金五铢为方孔圆钱。色泽赤黄,铸造精细,造型秀美。周缘有郭,正面穿上有一横,穿背有郭,“五铢”二字为篆书(彩插)。钱径2.6,穿径1,外部厚0.11,内郭厚0.144厘米,重量为5.91克。通过多通道x射线荧光光谱仪作无损分析,含金量为93.98%,含银量为0.74%,含铜量为0.7%,含锌量为0.09%,含铁量为4.48%。
