In this study, the changes of histochemistry of ATPase in acute hypoxic rat brain were observed under hypoxia conditions at 3000, 5000, 8000 and 10000m in a low-pressure cabin. Quantitative analysis was performed using image analysis technique . The results showed that in the parietal cortex, ATPase showed a gradual downward trend with increasing height in each group. In the hippocampus, the activity of 3000m increased slightly and decreased gradually from 5000m to 1000m. In the cerebellum, there was a transient mild elevation phenomenon at 5000m. At the height of 10000m, the ATPase activity in each brain region decreased significantly, which was significantly different from the control group and the group below 8000m (P <001). The brain is more sensitive than the cerebellum. Changes in brain ATPase activity affect the physiological function of the brain and pathological changes.
