2003年3月20日,北京时间上午10点56分(巴格达当地时间3月20日凌晨),美军部署在红海的“邦克山”号巡洋舰上一声巨响,首枚“战斧”式巡航导弹呼啸着刺入夜空,杀向伊拉克。紧接着,部署在波斯湾和红海上的美国军舰相继发射了约36枚”战斧”式巡航导弹。几乎与此同时,2架从科威特起飞的F-117隐形战斗机也到达了巴格达的上空,每架投掷了2枚重2000磅的精确制导炸弹。一时间,巴格达城区爆炸声四起,空袭警报也响个不停。随后,美军驻科威特第2机步师向伊拉克境内目标(伊军阵地)发动了猛烈炮击,一场没有获得联合国授权的对伊战争爆发了!
