由广州市文化广电新闻出版局交办,广州博物馆调查小组编写的这个调查《纪要》,填补了我市对可移动文物保护中这一段历程的空白。经征得调查小组同意在本刊发表。回想20世纪60年代,当时我国的内外形势都很紧张。广州地处祖国南陲,国内处于“备战、备荒、为人民”的大环境下,广州文博单位中共党支部从1962年初就着手筹划如何安全转移我们的重要文物问题。其后与省图、省博一起于粤北山区连平建立战备后方文物仓库。其时广州文管会、广州博物馆、广东民间工艺馆、广东革命历史博物馆、广州美术馆五单位的重要文物都转移到后方仓库存放,历时十五六年。当时,只是从备战需要考虑,但到1966年开始的“文革”十年动乱,文博单位亦受冲击,这批重要文物幸好早已转移,直到1980年存放连平仓库的文物全部运返广州,确保安全无损。当时基于安全考虑,整个转移工作是在保密的要求下进行的,知其事者甚少,加上事隔已四十多年,时过境迁,所以部分回忆材料或有相互矛盾之处,实不为奇。这份《纪要》是在调查小组经过四个多月进行多方调查、访问、查证等工作之后,及时把调研材料整理,两次发送给省、市文博的老同志及当事人征求意见,核准事实,在此基础上编写成的。本刊编辑同仁对他们的严肃认真态度,并同意由本刊刊发全部资料,深表敬意和感谢。
