Neurogenic tumors are the most frequent neoplasms of the lower posterior mediastinum. In adults, they are usually discovered in an asymptomatic patient. The tumors are mostly benign but can also be malignant. Therefore, once detected, resection is always advised.Traditionally, lower posterior mediastinal tumors are excised by conventional thoracotomy or thoracoscopicaily.1 Laparoscopic evolution of the late 20th century has changed the scenario of postoperative recovery and cosmetic outcome in most of the surgical procedures. We attempted and excised a lower posterior mediastinal tumor using the retroperitoneoscopic approach.
