同志们: 中国书法家协会召开常务理事会议,我谨代表中宣部文艺局,向与会的同志们表示亲切的问侯,祝贺大家在一九九三年的工作中取得了很大成绩,也预祝大家在认真总结经验的基础上,兢兢业业地把今年的工作做得更加出色。去年下半年,我参加了中国书法家协会组织的在北京、重庆、武汉和福州举办的部分活动与会议,与各地的书协领导同志及部分书法篆刻家有了进一步的接触与了解,我感到,近年来我国书法篆刻艺术的发展势态是十分良好的,书法篆刻的创作与学术理论研究,都取得了显著成果,显现出百花齐放的景象。我在重庆和武汉听了一些书法篆刻家们谈自己的理论观点,觉得很有新意,不少人在思考探索,力图对传统的中国书法艺术注入更多的时代精神,开
Comrades: The Chinese Calligraphers Association convened a meeting of standing members. On behalf of the Central Propaganda Department, I would like to extend my cordial greetings to the participating comrades and congratulate everyone for their great achievements in the work of 1993. I wish all of you, on the basis of earnestly summarizing their experiences, work diligently to make this year’s work even better. In the second half of last year, I participated in some activities and conferences organized by the Chinese Calligraphers Association in Beijing, Chongqing, Wuhan and Fuzhou. I came into further contact with some leaders of the Calligraphy Association and some calligraphy and seal engravers. I feel In recent years, the development trend of Chinese calligraphy and seal cutting art is very good. The study on the creation of calligraphy and seal cutting and the study of academic theory have all achieved remarkable results, showing a scene of flourishing flowers. I heard some calligraphers and sellers in Chongqing and Wuhan talked about their own theoretical point of view, and I felt very innovative. Many people are thinking and exploring, trying to inject more time spirit into the traditional Chinese calligraphy art.
