2006年4月25日,华中科技大学一号楼学术报告厅,大家用自发的起立和长达一分钟的掌声欢迎一位老人的到来。林毅夫、巴曙松、徐长生,这些扬名已久的经济学家用不同的方式向老人致以敬意。这位老人是张培刚,中国发展经济学之父,被人亲切地称为张培老。张培老已经93岁了,这是他第一次照着稿发言。他说话很慢,却字字铿锵。今天是“张培刚发展经济学优秀成果奖”颁奖典礼的日子。“他身体不是很好,但考虑到来了这么多人,还是过来了。”张老的夫人告诉记者。很多人并不知道,从张老住处到学术报告厅,不到100米的距离,他走了足足有十分钟。

Lin Yifu, Ba Shusong, Xu Changsheng, these well-known economists pay tribute to the elderly in different ways. The old man is Zhang Peigang, the father of China’s development economics, who is kindly called Chang Pei. Zhang Pei-lao has been 93 years old, this is his first statement. He spoke very slowly, but the word sonorous. Today is the day when Zhang Peigang Award for Outstanding Achievement in Development Economics was presented. “He is not very good physically, but when it comes to so many people, he is still here.” Zhang’s wife told reporters. Many people do not know, from Zhang Lao residence to the academic lecture hall, less than 100 meters away, he left for a full 10 minutes.
