Ｐｅｎｔｉｕｍ４处理器的发布距离现在已经有一段时间了，对于Ｉｎｔｅｌ的这款新的旗舰式的处理 器，大家听到了许多不同的看法。由地采用了全新的设计，它在很多基金应用方面的表现十分突 出。但是很多标准测试的结果也征明了Ｐｅｎｔｉｕｍ４距离Ｉｎｔｅｌ公司所声称的其应当具有优势性能还有一段差距，这使大家非常地关望。但不管怎样，笔者也必须挤出Ｐｅｎｔｉｕｍ４在优化软件等方面的表现显示出这款处理器比起过去确实有了很大程度上的改进。 Ｐｅｎｔｉｕｍ４处理器所处的不同寻常的地位使笔者很难对它进行一个非常确切的评价。可以认为这款处理器价格太高而且还有很多尚待解决的问题因而简单地断定它是失败的产品吗？或者说已经把它看作未来软件环境下的胜利者？轻视Ｐｅｎｉｕｍ４的人们在未来会被证明是错误的吗？或者是Ｐｅｎｔｉｕｍ４的忠实拥护者发现他们的想法只是一厢情愿？笔者很难回答这些问题。并不能回答以上关于Ｐｅｎｔｉｕｍ４的所有问题，但是还是能说明一部分事实，而笔者也因此对Ｉｎｔｅｌ公司将来生产出更重量级的微处理器产品有了更大的期待。笔者将再次对Ｐｅｎｔｉｕｍ４和ＡＭＤ公司的最新Ａｔｈｌｏｎ处理哭 （不久其频率将达到１２００ＭＨｚ或者更高，运行在１?
The Pentium 4 processor has been released for some time now and many different opinions have been heard about Intel’s new flagship processor. The ground-breaking adoption of a completely new design has made it a prominent player in many fund applications. However, the results of many standard tests also show that there is still a gap between the Pentium 4 and what Intel claims should have superior performance, which makes everyone look very much. But anyway, I also have to squeeze out Pentium4 in optimizing software and other aspects of the performance of this processor has indeed been a great improvement over the past.
