Objective: To investigate the effects of leptin and metal elements on fetal growth and development. Methods: A total of 102 newborn infants who were born from 37 weeks to less than 42 weeks of age and delivered vaginally were divided into 3 groups: SGA, AGA and LGA according to birth weight. Cord blood leptin, magnesium, calcium, Iron, zinc, and then analyze the correlation between leptin and trace elements and different weight groups of newborns. Results: The levels of cord blood leptin and the levels of calcium, iron and zinc in neonatal LGA group were higher than those in the other two groups (P <0.05), while the LGA group had the lowest magnesium content. However, The difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05). Conclusion: The level of cord blood leptin is positively correlated with the birth weight of full-term newborns at different weights. The leptin level can reflect the growth and development of the fetus. Umbilical cord blood of zinc, calcium, iron on fetal growth and development have an impact, and weight of full-term newborn birth weight is positively correlated, can be determined by umbilical cord blood trace elements zinc, calcium, iron levels on fetal development determination. The level of magnesium in umbilical cord blood was not correlated with the body weight at birth of full-term newborns with different body weights.
