This paper aims to explore and understand the need for sustainability in the supply chain of the fashion industry with the combination of the current fashionable technology,blockchain.Be it about style,color and others,the urge to always keep up with the demand of the market has always been the priority in the fashion industry.The past couple of years fashion has been judged badly after several accidents were revealed and become known by the public.Specifically,for luxury brands,many people started to doubt their efforts in battling the issues inside the retail environment and confirm their negligence in dealing with their operational works.Fashions supply chain is indeed a complicated framework to be discussed in detail.Moreover,after the increasing need to do a global supply chain is being popularize by mand brands,it is harder to guarantee the morality of the operation.Managing a global supply chain operation is a challenge for brands because,with the current traditional supply chain,there is much information that is still invisible and hidden from the other members of the supply chain network.The invisibility that happened for whatever reasons has become the norms in the fashions supply chain and has been ignored ever smce.However,in this past three years,more customers shift their buying behavior from buying a trendy piece of the product to a sustainable one.The sustainable products have actually always been existed but in the past,the good are only appealed to a niche market group.Similar to the characteristic that made sustainable products are demanded in the past,these days customers are starting to have an interest in the story behind the product.From the designing until the end product,customers are more selective in buying their products based on those factors to detect the fake from the authentic ones on the second-hand market that has become a common way of purchasing luxury goods.This is why retailers have been looking for a system that could complete the whole supply chain internally and extemally.Around2008,the appearance of a new technology called blockchain has been argued to be the best choice technology that has all the traits needed for the further improvement of supply chain management strategy.This paper will explore the integration of blockchain to the brands supply chain framework and overview the management improvement that includes internal and external resources,organizational and management performance,and realization of sustainability supply chain management.Through evaluation of current and past issues inside the luxury brandssupply chain,this paper will aid emerging luxury brands enriching their strategy to boost their operations in the future and promote the feasibility of sustainable supply chain management strategy that has become the crucial fashion for the last past years.
