Accessible Environment is an important foundation for persons with disabilities, the aged, children and other persons with communication and mobility problems to participate in social life safely, conveniently and equally.Beijing Municipal Commission of Urban Planning has cooperated with other departments to actively promote the construction of accessible environments.They have issued and implemented the Regulations of Beijing Municipality on the Construction and Management of Accessible Facilities;established the coordination platform for "Joint Meeting of Accessible Facility Construction and Transformation" consisting of relevant functional departments;developed and issued accessible facility construction and transformation plan;issued and implemented a number of standards and specifications;set up accessible facility regulation system;focused on promoting accessible facility transformation in fields closely related with peoples livelihood;promoted the construction and transformation of information accessibility;and formed good atmosphere for the construction of accessible environments in the whole society.
