Two new kinds of polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (poss-based) organic/inorganic hybrid gelators which respectly own different groups on their periphery were successly designed and synthesised, and these gelators based gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) hybrid nanocomposites have been produced.Compared their ability for self-assembly and adsorption of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) in hybrid gels via scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM).Compared their Gel ability, thermal stability and rheological properties via tube-inversion method and rotational rheometer.The SEM and TEM clearly showed that these gelators have the ability for self-assembly into a new Loofah-like gel network, gel fibers of sulfur contained gelator POSS-Boc-Cys (Bzl)-OH (POSS-Cys) have the directly interaction with AuNPs.
