Phthalate esters (PAEs) are well-known polymer additives that are used in formulations of pesticides, paints, poly (vinyl chloride) plastics, etc.However, their most important use is as plasticizers that improve the flexibility and workability of polymeric materials [1].When used as plasticizers, PAEs can migrate from the plastic to the external environment under certain conditions.Certain PAEs as well as metabolites and degradation products, can cause adverse effects on human health (particularly to liver, kidney and testicles) [2].
