At 9:00 on January 22, 1998, the atmosphere at “Beijing Lao She Teahouse” at the front door was warm. More than 100 leaders, writers, editors, reporters and readers who are concerned and engaged in literary work gather for a seminar on “Reform and Development of People’s Literature.” We all speak freely, the various expressions have been met, I wish this state-level monthly literature constantly reform, forge ahead, create greater glories. In September 1949, at the invitation of Comrade Mao Dun, the first chief editor of People’s Literature, Chairman Mao Zedong made his famous inscription for the magazine’s publication: “I hope more works will be produced,” and I feel more cordial Inspired. Guided by the spirit of this inscription, this publication, together with the motherland and the people, shares the same fate and steadfastly implements the “two for” direction and the “double hundred” principle. It has gone through the stormy course of nearly half a century, He has published a series of outstanding literary works that are popular in the history of literature, many of which are reproduced, edited, translated, awarded, broadcast, and adapted into films and TV dramas.
