Angiogenesis is a necessary condition for the growth and metastasis of solid tumors. Neovascularization provides adequate nutrition for abnormally proliferating tumor cells. Angiogenesis is regulated by a network of vascular stimulating and inhibitory factors. Among the numerous angiogenic growth inhibitory factors, Angiostatin and endostatin can specifically inhibit the proliferation of endothelial cells.
