80年代湖南国民生产总值年均增长速度在全国排第25位,比广东低 4.8个百分点,比湖北低0.8个百分点,比江西低0.96个百分点,比贵州低1.5个百分点,比安徽低2.75个百分点.总量排第11位,仅占全国份额的4%.人均国民生产总值年均增长速度排第24位,比广东低4.2个百分点,比湖北低0.8个百分点,比江西低0.9个百分点,比贵州低1.4个百分点,比安徽低3个百分点.1990年,人均GDP排第20位.90年代头3年,湖南经济全面发展,国内生产总值年均增长速度达11%以上,1994年也可望达到11%.全省经济整体发展看好,尤其是乡镇企业、第三产业、个体经济、高新技术产业和三资企业等5个新增长点发展迅速.

The overall economic development in the province is promising, especially the five new growth points of township and town enterprises, tertiary industry, individual economy, high-tech industries and foreign-funded enterprises are developing rapidly.
