李佩甫的《城的灯》可以说是又一种写法的《人生》,但他并没有完全在“痴心女子负心汉”的框架内进行低水平的重复建设,而是在这个原型故事的基础上的更高层次的思考与阐发,流露出对生命苦难的大胆正视与文化主题的苦苦追问。《城的灯》在正视与追问中实现对路遥《人生》的深化与超越。
