戏开始时我们看到的这个家庭,好象有着钢筋水泥般的稳固结构。一个陌生人闯进去,定会被其诗意般的美满所迷醉:别致的庭院厅室,现代化的陈设;主人们一个个换上了晚礼服,精力充沛的父亲要驾车去接客人;漂亮的女儿打扮得更迷人,正准备去竞选舞会皇后;温顺的保姆穿梭来往,将里里外外打扫得纤尘不染,布置得舒适妥贴;贤淑的女主人跚跚归来,手捧着鲜花和生日蛋糕,她永远不会忘记丈夫的生日……可是,只要你仔细一观察,便可发现这个家庭的裂痕:男女主人各有居室,只是名义上的夫妻;大女儿由母亲作主,嫁给了一个龌龊的小人,精神的创伤,招致她的心理变态;小儿子失落了理想,头脑空虚,玩世不恭……
