The heat transfer in the liquid region surrollnding a vapor bubble during boiling in microgravity is investigated numerically. The liquid region includes a microlayer below the bubble. The flow is driven by Marangoni fiow. The model also includes condensation and evaporation at the bubble surface. The results show that the velocities are small and that the temperature distribution is not significantly different from the solution for pure conduction in the liquid. Depending on the conditions, Marangoni flow and natural convection both increase the heat transfer by about 2O% compared to conduction.
