传说昔日佛祖拈花,唯迦叶微笑,顿悟法门。这是弹宗常常提及的一个公案。说世尊于灵山会上,拈花示众,是时众皆默然,唯迦叶尊者开颜微笑。世尊日:“吾有正法眼藏,涅槃妙心,实相无相,微妙法门,不立文字,教外别传,付嘱摩诃迦叶。”佛祖这里所传示的,正是万法的本来面目,即纯净无染,悠然自得,无拘无束,不着形迹,不可动摇,不可以用任何语言和行为来形容这亦是《心经》所言不生不灭、不增不减、不垢不净的正法之境。
