本文所报導的青梅纯林,長久以來,却为海南島人民利用,樹干通直,材質極佳。据我們所知,在海南島凌水、通扎与东方职南的丘陵地区,分布很廣。最近中國科学院海南热帶林調查隊,在通扎附近也發現近成熟年齡的纯林,很值得重視的。文中作者提及龍腦香料林木与热帶兩林的关系,根据國外资料,龍腦香科林木可分兩类:(一)潮湿类型或散生类型,生長于热带兩林内,概屬常綠樹,散生于其他林木之中,僅偶有成小片生長的,耐蔭蔽力頗強,至少在幼年时如此,皮薄而光滑,林下乔灌木極多,海南之坡壘即屬此类。(二)干旱类型或聚生类
The pure green plum forest reported in this article has long been used by the people of Hainan Island. Its trunk is straight and its material is very good.
