珠海高新区是1992年底经国务院批准建立的第二批国家级高新区,“九五”期间经历了低速增长、调整、加速发展三个阶段。1999年区内工业总产值35.3亿元,比1998年增长72.5％,2000年可望在上一年基础上实现翻番,利税和出口创汇等重要指标也呈现出强劲的增长势头,项目孵化功能明显增强,高科技产业化示范基地、软件园、留学生创业园等专业园区开始运作,一批前景看好的高科技项目也纷纷落户高新区,积聚和示范效应凸现。珠海高新区将进入历史上最好的发展时期,同时也面临严峻的挑战。所以能否抓住机遇、创造条件,对于促进高新区下一阶段的发展及目标实现至关重要。
Zhuhai Hi-tech Zone was the second batch of national high-tech zones approved by the State Council at the end of 1992. During the “Ninth Five-Year Plan” period, it experienced three stages of low-speed growth, adjustment, and accelerated development. In 1999, the total industrial output value of the region was 3.53 billion yuan, an increase of 72.5% over 1998. It is expected to double on the basis of the previous year in 2000, and important indicators such as profits and taxes and foreign exchange earned through exports will also show strong growth momentum. Strengthening, high-tech industrialization demonstration bases, software parks, and international student business parks have begun operations, and a group of promising high-tech projects have also settled in high-tech zones, accumulating and demonstrating the effects of the demonstration. Zhuhai Hi-tech Zone will enter the best development period in history, but it will also face severe challenges. Therefore, whether or not it can seize opportunities and create conditions will be crucial to the promotion of the next stage of development of the Hi-tech Zone and the realization of its goals.
