During the social practice, I chose to attend the class named Control of Common Motors for my interest in electrics and motors. I learnt how an alternating-current motor (交流电机) worked and how a frequency converter (变压器) con-trolled the speed of the motor, which might not be difficulty for me. However, when we were re-quired to connect the wires on our own, I felt nervous. That's really challenging because of the dangerous 380V alternating current we were facing! Fortunately, our teacher guided us with great patience, and I finished the task success-fully. Then, we reset the parameters of the fre-quency converter to get control of the motor bythe switches and knobs on the board. By trial and error, I finally managed to adjust the motor to 7 different speeds, and I received an award at the end of the class.
