中共重点学校政策起源于20世纪50年代初,“文化大革命”时期遭到中断。在邓小平的努力下,改革开放时期重点学校政策得到恢复和发展。针对重点学校发展造成的教育资源分配不均衡加深等弊病,自90年代中共中央和有关部门对重点学校政策进行了调整。总体来看,重点学校政策的产生、发展是为了适应经济发展对人才培养的需要,有着时代发展的历史合理性与必然性;这一政策为新中国培养输送高层次、高质量人才,带动整个教育水平的提高做出了重要贡献;它所引发的社会问题具有多方面深层次原因,需要在新的时代条件下进一步完善和解决。
