适应症手术前对视网膜功能的评定对于屈光间质混浊不能作眼底检查者,在拟作角膜移植术、白内障摘出术及玻璃体切割术,术前通过ERG 检查来了解视网膜功能的优劣是十分有益的,它将比色觉检查、光定位检查提供更确切的结论;②早期诊断对有视功能障碍不会言语的婴幼儿,检查ERG 可提供或排除视网膜原的依据;③鉴别诊断对早期或中期视网膜色素变性的病人,检查ERG 可鉴别是原发性还是继发性;对夜盲病人可鉴别是先天性还是后天性;对白点状视网膜病可鉴别是静止型还是进展型;④遗传学的研究ERG 检查有助于对那些影响到眼底的遗传
