苏联南部有一个赋存于老第三纪陆相碳酸盐建造的磷块岩矿床。其P_2O_5平均含量10%,估计储量8亿吨。磷块岩主要产于中始新统的含磷碳酸岩层中。从剖面看,磷块岩层的上覆岩层和下伏岩层也有含磷层位。磷块岩层主要为粒状磷块岩,计有两个类型:含有粉砂、砂、粘土成份的颗粒状、砾状磷块岩;含生物化石碎片,主要成份为砂、粘土的粒状-鲕状、粒状-碎屑状磷块岩。粒状磷块岩层的厚度在5—10厘米到1.5米之间;P_2O_5含量在5—29%之间,一般为10—20%。
There is a phosphorite deposit hosted in the Old Tertiary continental facies carbonate in the southern Soviet Union. The P2O5 average content of 10%, estimated reserves of 800 million tons.
