东西方文化不同,自然观也不一样。欧洲文化中的理想园林是《圣经》中的伊甸园。伊甸园是上帝创造的,也是人们心目中的天堂,所以,在西方园林中处处体现人的主宰地位。西方的园林以意大利园林为代表,几乎都是几何形的布局。而追求天人合一是中国人的自然观,中国园林追求的是自然形态,山石、树木、水域、建筑都呈自然的有机组合。中国园林步移景变,没有固定的观赏点,随着你脚步的前行你所看到的景物会变化。而西方园林中通常有固定的观赏点,道路笔直相交,树木的高低错落和形状也被修剪得十分规矩,连流水也在石渠里规规矩矩等差地落下,形成均匀的水帘。
