Nottingham University in the United Kingdom pioneered the Department of Adult Education at the University in 1920, which is not only the first in the UK but also the first in the world. The department provides adult humanities education for 21,000 students in an area of about 10,000 square kilometers in urban areas and agricultural areas. With nearly 250,000 people in the city, a significant number of people attended Nottingham City Adult Education Center.
