国际地球物理年(1957—1958)的一项永久性产物就是建立了世界资料中心(WDC)体系,通过该体系开展了持续的各种有关地球物理资料的国际交流。这一自愿交流机构取得了很大成功。各中心的基本业务费用由东道国提供。国际性资料交流主要是以物换物的性质。资料的捐献者有数千,而资料的使用者则有好几万。
One of the permanent products of the International Geophysical Year (1957-1958) is the establishment of the World Data Center (WDC) system through which ongoing international exchange of geophysical data takes place. This voluntary exchange has achieved great success. The basic operating costs of the centers are provided by the host country. International exchange of information is mainly based on the nature of physical changes. There are thousands of donors of information, and tens of thousands of users of information.
