历史是客观的,因而不能假设。但是,如果将一位伟人从历史长河中暂时抽离,假设其没有发挥已然发挥的影响力,或许在一定程度上,更便于厘清伟人的功绩。假如没有毛泽东,“中国人民至少还要在黑暗中摸索更长的时间”。邓小平就曾这样评价过毛泽东。而对于“假如没有邓小平”这一问题,不同的人自然会有不同的答案。假如没有邓小平,“中国人民就不可能有今天的新生活,中国就不可能有今天改革开放的新局面和社会主义现代化的光明前景”。江泽民在追悼小平时这样评价。假如没有邓小平,“我们就不可能有房、有车,有在深圳牵手的爱”。一对来自湖南乡下、在深圳打拼10年的新婚夫妇在小平塑像前献花时说。假如没有邓小平,“你我就无缘在网上相会”。一位网友在《假如历史上没有邓小平》的帖子中这样说。当然,我们并不认为某位巨人或英雄能够以一己之力完全改变历史,不过,我们又不能不承认,在历史转折节点上,伟人的智慧、魄力能够影响到社会发展的方向和进程。因此,我们也试图从这种假设出发,从个体命运、经济改革这两个层面,缅怀这位在中国现代史上扭转乾坤的一代伟人。
