The International Political Songs Festival, also known as the Red Song Festival, was originally launched by the Soviet Union and Eastern European countries. In 1968, the first political song contest was held at the Ninth World Youth Festival in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Since then, the year has become a tradition, and from the festival, become an independent international music festival. Last year, the 16th International Political Songs Festival was held in East Berlin with singers and singing groups from 29 countries on five continents. The monogram is a red berry bird.
