During my contacts with Dr. Sun Yat-sen, I heard him repeatedly on this idea; we must make efforts to re-write a good history of modern literature. “To write well again”, in my understanding at least the following layers of meanings: 1. The writing of the history of modern literature has been paying attention; 2. Not satisfied with the writing status of modern literary history; 3. Have a basic goal of the theory and practice of modern literature history?
