随着生产力的飞速发展。原来的粮仓不够用了，又囿于场地的限制，不允许易地扩建，必须向空中加高。这种粮仓的扩建工程在我国尚无经验。本文介绍了西部非洲扎伊尔马塔迪面粉厂的砼钢混合粮仓的设计、施工、扩建和补强的方法。原来的粮仓是下面有一道４．８ｍ高的砼环墙，上面有８道用螺栓连接的钢环仓（高８．８ｍ），储粮８０００ｔ。后来又加高了１２．１ｍ，扩建咸能储粮１５０００ｔ的粮仓，其成功的经验可供借鉴和参考。
