Objective To understand the level of knowledge, attitude and behavior (KAP) of AIDS related personnel in public security and disease control systems in Anhui Province. Methods A self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted using participants who took part in the Training Course for HIV Antibody Screening at the Public Security Supervision Site in the Province. As a result, 154 valid questionnaires were received, 42 of them were able to correctly answer all 20 knowledge questions, accounting for 28.4%; 119 people were able to correctly answer 80% or more of the questions, accounting for 80.4%; the correct response rate of the disease control personnel was obvious. Higher than public security personnel (P<0.001). The sequence of understanding of the three transmission routes was: sexual transmission> blood transmission> mother to child transmission (χ2=80.72, P<0.001). The awareness of AIDS knowledge is related to the occupation, and there is no statistical correlation between demographic indicators and the removal of the work system. For the five attitude problems, a total of 89 people (60.1%) benefited from the prevention and treatment of AIDS, and 118 (79.7%) with 80% or more favorable answers. The correct response rate of the disease control personnel was significantly higher. Public security personnel (P<0.001). Multi-factor analysis showed that attitudes were related to occupations; within the disease control system, attitudes were related to AIDS knowledge (P=0.026). Conclusion There are still many people in the public security system who have low levels of AIDS knowledge, and even some erroneous concepts. A few people hold attitudes that are not conducive to AIDS prevention and control. Disease control system personnel have higher AIDS knowledge than public security system personnel. And the favorable attitude, but as a business personnel engaged in AIDS prevention work, still need to be further improved.
